Father Christmas

So I have given in to Christmas in November and took Xoxo to Harrod's on Thursday to see Father Christmas because there was no line. (Last year when we went to Harrod's with Victor on December 2 it was packed, and we didn't bother getting in line.) He was enormous, like Mt Shasta. And he made her cry.

So much for her first Santa experience.

She also enjoyed sticking stickers onto the coats of fellow passengers on the crowded Tube, and riding the "choo-choo" to and from London, and looking at all the sheep on the way.

Right now Iain and Xo and I just had brunch of scrambled eggs, toast, mushrooms, tomatoes and sausages - these really nasty but delicious ones called Richmonds that are like sausage-flavored hot dogs - and Mimosas made with an Italian sparkling wine called Prosecco, so we are feeling no pain. I promise we don't do this every weekend. It was just a special occasion thing, minus the actual occasion.

Hello and welcome to everyone who's joined! I'm looking forward to reading about your days. And the more you post, the more fun it will be. One little tip: Instead of posting only in comments, it's good to create new posts so that the content is always fresh from the top.

Hope to hear from you soon! xK

I'm trying to get Rowan to recognize Santa's image, before actually taking him to see the man in red in Real Life. So far, he's indifferent. And then, there's the question...which Santa? Our local San Diego Fashion Valley Santa or the Santa at South Coast Plaza (who comes with his own carousel of reindeer, two-story mountain with running model-train, and elves who help children decorate Christmas ornaments and stockings)? I suppose if you took Xo all the way to Harrods, I'd better take Rowan to SCP. 'Tis the season, and whatnot.

Carousel of reindeer sounds cool! But I have to admit I didn't make a special trip for Harrod's. I was down visiting friends, and one of them lives right around the corner, so we were just killing time waiting for her while she was fighting traffic to come home.

There was a movie promotion party for the new 007 there that evening too, and I stood around with other gawkers hoping to catch a glimpse of Daniel Craig, but we got shooed off by security guards. Xo and I did get lost on the 4th floor and see the entrance to the party, though. It was a room all done up like a casino. Too glamorous for the likes of me and Xoxo!

You came to London and didn't tell us!!! =( Haha. I was at Harrods the other day. It was a dash-in-and-grab-the-essentials kinda job. Lol. Beautiful window display for Bond, huh? Pics up on Flickr yet?

I did tell you! Remember, I told you I was going to Heathrow Hilton? And didn't I say I was staying at My Phuong's and taking Xo to Harrod's? It would have been great if you'd come though. Next time. Maybe for my birthday? But no more Father Christmas.

Oh ok, the first part, but not the second. Didn't know you were staying though. Glad you had fun. Birthday sounds good. Do you know Goo Ma is going to America in a few days?
